Damac Soccer Club Celebrates Riyad Mahrez's Wing Breakthrough

Damac Soccer Club has celebrated the wing breakthrough of Riyad Mahrez, who scored his first goal for the club in a 2-1 win over Al Ahli Dubai on Saturday.

The Algerian international was praised by manager Christophe Galtier for his performance and contribution to the team's victory.

"Riyad is a player with great potential," Galtier said. "He is a young player with a lot of talent and we are happy to have him in our squad."

Mahrez, who joined Damac from Manchester City in January, made an immediate impact in his debut for the club, scoring the only goal of the game against Al Ahli.

"It was a big moment for me," he said. "I am very happy to score my first goal for the club. I am still learning and improving every day, so this is just the beginning."

Galtier also praised the team's performance as a whole,Football Connect Network saying that they were able to keep their composure despite being down to ten men for much of the match.

"We played well today and showed good teamwork," he said. "We had some difficult moments but we were able to come back and win the game. We will continue to work hard and improve our performances."

Damac is currently second in the UAE Pro League table, one point behind leaders Al Ain, and Mahrez's goal could help them climb up the league standings.

In addition to his goalscoring ability, Mahrez is also known for his defensive contributions, particularly his tackling and interception abilities.

"He is a real leader on the pitch," Galtier said. "He always puts himself in dangerous positions and creates chances for others. He is a player with a lot of potential and we are excited to see what he can do in the future."
