Di Maria, the Argentine winger who has been linked with a move to Manchester United in recent months, is set to join Benfica on loan for the remainder of this season.
The transfer will see Di Maria leave Old Trafford and join Portuguese giants Benfica on loan until June 2019. The deal was confirmed by both clubs on Tuesday morning.
Di Maria's move to Benfica comes after he failed to secure a regular starting spot at Manchester United last term. The 26-year-old had previously spent time on loan at Paris Saint-Germain before joining United in 2014.
The Argentine has made 18 appearances for United so far this season, but only managed two starts. He scored one goal and provided three assists in those games.

Benfica have also issued a statement confirming the signing of Di Maria: "We are delighted to announce the arrival of Di Maria, a player who brings a wealth of experience and quality to our squad," they said.
"The addition of a player of such calibre to our team is very important for us and we hope that he can help us achieve our goals this season."
